    ServSafe Person In Charge Training This 4-hour course offers basic food safety education for food service workers that do not need certification but need basic safe food handling knowledge and skills. This program includes hands-on activities, lots of class participation and a Certificate of Completion.

    Join us for Cooking Club in August! We are back to partner with First Presbyterian Church in Washington Court House for 4 weeks in August. Class dates are: August 5, August 12, August 19 and August 26, 2026 Class time is : 10 am - Noon Location: First Presbyterian Church, 214 N. Hinde St., Washington Court House, OH Classes are FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! This month we will 'Savor the Season: Fall Cooking with Pantry Staples'.  Hands-on learning, new recipes each week and the chance to taste the results!

  7. ServSafe Managers Training and Certification

    Aug. 20, 2026 8:30am to 4:30pm

    ServSafe Manager Training and Certification This 2-day course provides accurate, up-to-date information for all levels of employees on all aspects of handling food, from receiving and storing to preparing and serving. Must attend class both days as scheduled to take the certification exam at the end of the second day. Upon successful completion of the course and exam, participants will receive a certificate from the National Restaurant Association and certification in Food Protection from the Ohio Department of Health.

  9. Pressure Canning Testing Days

    Aug. 18, 2026 10:30am to 11:30am

    Pressure Canner Testing Sarah Sowell, Ohio State University - Fayette County FCS Educator, in partnership with the Fayette County Family YMCA, will offer pressure canner testing on Tuesday, August 11 and Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Testing will be available from 10:30 am - 11:30 am. Testing can help identify a faulty gauge. This prevents botulism and helps ensure safe home canning. Please bring:

    Southwest Ohio Corn Growers Agronomy Field Day Southwest Ohio Corn Growers and Ohio State University - Fayette County invite you to the 2026 Agronomy Field Day on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.  This free, annual event is open to the public from 9 am to 2 pm at the Fayette County Airport.
