  1. Ohio SNAP-Ed Update

    Dec. 01, 2025

    Federal funding for SNAP-Ed ended Sept 30, 2025. In Ohio, SNAP-Ed programming continued through Nov. 12. Contact your local Extension office to find out what similar programs might be available in your area. You can also visit celebrateyourplate.org for recipes and other online tools.

  3. Good Agriculture Practices Training

    Feb. 11, 2026

    Join us on Friday, February 20, 2026 for GAPs (Good Agricultural Practices) Training.

    This free training provides growers with the knowledge and tools needed to implement on-farm best management practices to reduce fresh produce safety hazards and ensure their product is safe for selling to the public.

    Register by February 19, 2026 by calling 740-335-1150 to ensure materials and lunch available for all.

  4. Valero Renewables Bloomingburg hosts Agriculture Safety Training Day

    Ohio State University in Fayette County is proud to continue to partner with Valero Renewables Bloomingburg as they host 2026 Agriculture Safety Training.

    This year's event will include training focused on chemical safety. Areas of training will include: Aerial Pest Control/Drone Safety**, Agricultural Pest Control**, Agricultural Chemical Safety and Labels**, First Responders' Responsibilities at Chemical Spills and Interactive Incident Command Tabletop Exercise for First Responders.

  5. Fayette County Welcomes Winter Farmers' Market

    Dec. 17, 2025

    Fayette County Farmers' Market is excited to hold a Winter Market!

    Once a month, January through April, vendors will be at the Fayette County Agricultural Center for an opportunity to shop and visit.

    2026 Winter Market dates are: January 10, February 14, March 21 and April 18.  Doors will open at 10 am and close at 2 pm.

    The Fayette County Agricultural Center is located at 1415 US 22 SW in Washington Court House, Ohio.

  7. Winter Academic Recess

    The Ohio State University will be closed December 24, 2025 - January 1, 2026. We look forward to spending time with our family and friends and observing the university's winter academic recess.

    Fayette County Releases 2026 ServSafe Training Dates

    OSU Extension Fayette County has announced its 2026 schedule for ServSafe® Manager and Person In Charge Certification courses. This nationally recognized program, developed by the National Restaurant Association, provides comprehensive food safety training that meets Ohio’s Level I and II Certification in Food Protection requirements.
