We are excited to bring CARTEENS to Fayette County!
4-H CARTEENS is a traffic safety program conducted by 4-H teen leaders and their program partners for juvenile traffic offenders. 4-H CARTEENS goals include:
- reducing the number of repeat juvenile traffic offenders,
- decreasing the number of teen traffic offenders, and
- increasing teen awareness of traffic/vehicular safety.
The Fayette County Juvenile Courts system created a partnership with OSU Extension Fayette County 4-H Youth Development to implement a traffic safety program for teens. Several major highways tangle throughout the county, combined with the busy streets and backroads, result in multiple teen driving accidents and violations each year.
CLASS INFORMATION
Fayette County CARTEENS classes are held on the second Tuesday of each month. Classes will take place in the meeting room of the Fayette County Agricultural Center.
*Your class date must align with requirements given by the court. At the conclusion of the CARTEENS program, the list of all participants in attendance will be sent to the Juvenile Court as proof of attendance.
